Wrenbury Recreation Ground Trust
Wrenbury Recreation Ground Trust is a registered charity (510141) established for “the provision and maintenance of a recreation ground for the benefit of the inhabitants of the area of benefit without distinction of political, religious or other opinions, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants”.

The “Area of benefit” is the Parishes of Baddiley, Broomhall, Burland, Cholmondeley, Chorley, Coole Pilate, Dodcott cum Wilkesley, Edleston, Faddiley, Marbury cum Quoisley, Newhall, Norbury, Sound, Wirswall and Wrenbury cum Frith. The facilities include an enclosed children’s playground, multi use games area, tennis courts, bowling green and football pitches.
Multi-Use Games Area
The multi-use games area (MUGA) funded by the Borough Council and WREN is now open for use.
The facility is located between the tennis courts and the new surgery. The pitch is capable of supporting the following activities:
- Football
- Rugby training (tag)
- Tennis
- Basketball
- Hockey
- Netball
- Aerobic activities and games
The Multi Use Games area is open each day and is available to all members of the community. On specified days (notified in advance) the area will be used for events organised by the Borough Council.
Hours of opening are 9.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. with the floodlights on from dusk to 10.00 p.m. The lighting is controlled by time switches.
Bookings can be made for regular organised groups by contacting the tenants, Bryony and Jill, at the Pavilion on 01270 781026.
The Trustees request that a donation is made to cover the administration of regular bookings.
The Recreation Ground is home to:
- Wrenbury Bowls Club (Crown Green Bowls)
- Wrenbury Tennis Club
- Wrenbury Football Club
New members are always welcome.
Wrenbury cum Frith Parish Council owns and maintains the children’s play equipment and pays for grass cutting in these areas. The pavilion houses changing rooms, a meeting room and bar. Membership of the Social Club is £3.00 per annum. The Pavilion is available for functions – Contact Bryony or Jill on 01270 781026.
