Chairman thanks volunteers for litter pick weekend

Posted on - April 9th, 2012

Chairman Jack McEvoy was very pleased with the success of the recent litter picking weekend and tree planting.

He congratulated the voluteers saying

” A big thanks to everybody who pitched in at the weekend.  We had over 20 volunteers in total which is terrific for our first time and we succeeded in covering the entire parish except for some peripheral lanes.  Some really good feedback and the village looks great  ……    at the very least we should make it an annual event.”

The litter picking was organised with the help of Cheshire East who made litter picking equipment available and laid on extra pick ups for the litter.

The tree planting was also very successful with many volunteers turning up to plant trees for the Jubilee.  Many thanks to Christine Morrison for the organisation of this initiative.
